1998 - 2021
In 1998, Yonas initiated the plan to establish the church's music school. From the outset, he was involved in developing the program and curriculum, ultimately leading to the school's establishment. By effectively coordinating efforts with Ethiopian musicians, both returnees from abroad and those within the country, alongside various mission organizations, this school has become an institution built on strong pedagogy, producing numerous well-known musicians. Moreover, through this institution and various other platforms, Yonas continues to play a vital role in fostering dialogue and raising awareness about the current landscape of Ethiopian music.
የመካነ ኢየሱስ የሙዚቃ ትምህርት ቤት ጅማሬ
1998 - 2021
በ1980 ዮናስ የቤተ ክርስቲያኒቱ የሙዚቃ ትምህርት ቤት የሚጀመርበትን እቅድ ከማውጣት ጅምሮ ፕሮግራሙንና ስርአተ ትምህርቱንም በማዘጋጀት ትምህርት ቤቱ እንዲጀመር አድርጓል። ይህንን ትምህርት ቤት ከሀገር ውስጥና ከውጪ ተመላሽ ከሆኑ ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያንንና የሚስዮን ድርጅቶችን በማስተባበር ትምህርት ቤቱ በጠንካራ ፔዶጎጂ ላይ ተመስርቶ በርካታ እውቅ ሙዚቀኞችን የሚያፈራ ተቋም ሆኗል። በተጨማሪም በዚህ ተቋምና በሌሎችም የተለያዩ አጋጣሚዎች የኢትዮጵያን የሙዚቃ እንቅስቃሴ ያለበትን ደረጃ ወደ ውይይት ጠረንጴዛ እንዲመጣ የበኩሉን አስተዋጽኦ እያደረገ ይገኛል።

2008 - 2018
Jazzamba initially opened in 2008 with the name Africa Jazz Music School. The school was started by well-known local musicians and visionaries, including Yonas, who was also one of its teachers. Simultaneously, with the aim of financially supporting the school, the JazzAmba lounge was opened in the Taitu Hotel. This lounge operated seven days a week, with a focus on featuring local musicians, including the students. The lounge played a crucial role in financially supporting the school and striving to minimize tuition fees for students. When a fire at the Taitu Hotel destroyed Jazzamba's venue and sound system, the school was unable to secure sufficient alternative income, leading to its closure in 2018.
ጃዝ አምባ የሙዚቃ ት/ቤትና ላውንጅ
2000 - 2010
ጃዝ አምባ በ2000 ዓ.ም. አፍሪካ የጃዝ የሙዚቃ ት/ቤት በሚል ስም ተከፈተ። ትምህርት ቤቱ በሀገር ውስጥ ባሉ እውቅ ሙዚቀኞችና በለራእዮች ዮናስን ጨምሮ ነበር የተጀመረው። ትምህርት ቤቱ ጃዝ አምባ የሙዚቃ ት/ቤት በሚል ስያሜ ማስተማሩን ጀምሮ ነበር። ዮናስም በዚህ ት/ቤት ውስጥ ያስተምር ነበር። በተጓዳኝም ትምህርት ቤቱን በፋይናንስ እንዲያግዝ በማሰብ ጃዘአምባ የሚባል ላውንጅ በጣይቱ ሆቴል ውስጥ በመክፈት ከሰኞ እሰከ ሰኞ ይሚካሄድና በሙዜቀኞች ላይ ትኩረት ያደረገና ጠቅላላው ገቢው ለሙዚቃ ትምህርት ቤቱ በሚውል እሳቤ የተከፈተ ነበር። በጣይቱ ሆቴል ላይ በድንገት በተነሳ የእሳት አደጋ የተነሳ የጃዘምባ ጠቅላላ የሙዚቃና የሳውንድ ሲስተም እስከወደመበት ጊዜ ድረስ ትምህርት ቤቱን በፋይናንስ በማገዝ የተማሪዎቹን የክፍያ መጠን በተቻለ መጠን ለመቀነስ ጥረት ሲያድርግ ነበር። ካጣይቱ ሆቴል መቃጠል በኋላ ግን ትምህርት ቤቱ ሌላ በቂ ገቢ ሊገኝ ስላልቻል በ2010 የማስተማሩ ሂደት ተቋረጠ።
